James 1:26-27
“If anyone among you thinks he is religious, and does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this one’s religion is useless.
Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”

A true Christ-follower has control over their tongue. They won’t have time for lose talks or things that needs to be spoken in private. I have seen many people who worship the LORD when they are inside the church and cracks all sorts of waste talks on others. Their intention is fleshly. True religion is when we allow our flesh to die and letting Jesus shine through our words.

Remember, “For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.” Luke 6:45. Controlling our mouths means that refraining our hearts from thinking in the wrong way. If we are trying to be religious and are not keeping our mouths controlled, then we are cheating ourselves. GOD has no delight in the people who don’t have control over their tongue. “Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.” Colossians 4:6. If we can’t keep this standard, better keep our mouths shut. It is better to be silent than to sin before GOD.

True religion is serving others just as Christ did. It is by keeping ourselves holy from all sorts of uncleanliness of this world. We are called to be the Holy Servants of GOD.

Pure religion is when we speak and live holy. The world will try to place its blemishes on the follower of Christ. So, we must be cautious in dealing with people around us. A Christian must have a strong boundary of morality. All bits of help must limit within this. When we break the boundary, sin creeps in. We may not be able to identify the fall of this moral boundary. But, once you are trapped, it will affect our life and our ministry. Better not to involve too much in the matters of the widows and the fatherless. It doesn’t mean to neglect them or our Christian qualities, but if we can’t keep ourselves within the moral boundary, stop right there. Better not to help than to fall in sin.
