I have seen many churches practicing pagan rituals and worldly ideologies by making it ‘holy’ under the name of ‘prayer’. Most of these traditions came into the church either as an influence of other religions or by force to get acceptance/escape from persecution from others. These practices have no Biblical foundation and many of the church leaders substantiate their favor to those practices by saying that, “It’s just another prayer.”
We can’t make an unholy practice holy by ‘baptising’ it in prayer. Modern Pentecostalism has become more prone to all sorts of these practices and making the boundaries of holiness set by the Word of God weak. There is nothing like ‘pagan Christianity’ or ‘carnal believer.’ But the practices the church adopt these days is trying to conform the Church into the patterns of this world.
We must be aware of the schemes of the devil. When persecution fails he will use persuasion to lure the Bride of the Christ away from purity and holiness. “But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” 2 Corinthians 11:3.
Be vigilant about the teachings, practices, and the scheme of the devil. Let’s have a desire to accept the true doctrines even if they seem ‘boring’ as few of the modern preachers say! Let’s repent if we have failed in following the truths and have become as an ambassador of this world! Let’s prepare ourselves in holiness for the coming of our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ!
