Devotional Portion: Psalms 9:15-16
The nations have sunk down in the pit which they made; In the net which they hid, their own foot is caught. The Lord is known by the judgment He executes; The wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Meditation.
The nations have sunk down in the pit which they made; In the net which they hid, their own foot is caught.
David understood the triumph of God over the enemies by trapping them in the snare they set for God’s saints. God made their plans to go in vain and God can use it as a stepping stone to fulfil His perfect plans too.
While we check the scriptures, we can see many examples of this as well.
- Haman built gallows for Mordecai, but Haman and his family were hanged on it.
- Judas betrayed Jesus, but he fulfilled a prophecy.
There is nothing that a wicked man does that is not against his own interest. He is continually doing himself harm, and takes more pains to destroy his soul than the righteous man does to get his saved unto eternal life. (Clarke)
The Lord is known by the judgment He executes; The wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Meditation.
The greatness of God is demonstrated by what He executes. His mighty hands work for those who know Him and live according to His heart.
Reflection: Pray for those who persecute you, let God take care of your life.
