Devotional Portion: Psalms 14:7
Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come out of Zion! When the Lord brings back the captivity of His people, Let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad.
David knew that the Lord is the refuge and strength, and the workers of iniquity will never win in their schemes. The captivity mentioned here is not any of the captivity through which Israel had gone through, David is mentioning the situation of oppression and the ill-treatment by the wicked on the chosen people. The return from captivity brings rejoice, and their rejoice will be solely on the Lord as He is the deliverer. With His might He opens the way, with His hands He does the miracles, and with His power, He leads- for His glory!
Reflection: Rejoice in the LORD, for He is our deliverer.
