It was snowing again in Canada. The people who had recently arrived in the country were so excited to see snow for the first time. The kids were happy that they could play in the snow and make their own snowman. The companies who clear the snow on the walkways and the roads were also happy that they could earn money in the season. But there was another group, who had been seeing winter for quite a while. They were unhappy as they were worried about themselves and also they were a bit old to ‘enjoy’ the snow like the kids. They were concerned about the delayed public commutes, the hardship in walking through the ice and the windy cold days which made them ‘hate’ the winter season.
Most of them had moved to Canada after having heard a promise from GOD or as per GOD’s guidance and snow is actually a part of the blessing of where they belong . But over the course of time, our heart loses the excitement about the blessings and starts grumbling.
On the flip side, for the newbies, it’s a fulfilment of the promise from GOD and the grumbling group has no interest in enjoying or being happy with them. Their heart has forgotten to rejoice over the blessings of others as well. They even forget to tell the newbies about how to take care of themselves in the new blessing!
Do we have a heart that grumbles when we see others’ blessing? Do we become jealous on seeing others prosper? Rejoice with others when GOD leads them to their blessings! We lose nothing in rejoicing with others but we rather get another opportunity to bless the name of the LORD. And if we have an attitude to praise GOD even when our blessings are “delayed” from our perspective, GOD will delight in us! Rejoice in the LORD always, count His blessings one by one and let all the earth rejoice in the mighty works of the LORD.
