Christianity isn’t a religion! Etymology of “religion” shows several Latin words which may have served as its origin- Relegere, Religo or Religare which purely means devotion or respect, to tie back, to fasten or to bind up, re-reading etc. Religion is perhaps the state or process of affiliating or being affiliated as stated in Oxford dictionary.

In actual fact, Christianity is used to describe a person or action that is good, kind, helpful and also for someone who believes in and follows the teachings of Jesus Christ (Oxford dictionary). According to religious studies, people have become somewhat less religious in recent years. Which unambiguously highlights that many people in this day and age have taken break off of following the path of kindness and respect towards one another. Bible bears witness to a religion that God accepts as pure and faultless, and it is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. Being a Christian emphasis on exhibiting the character of Christ in every deed and thought. What’s the point in being a Christian when we lack empathy and can only feel sympathised to someone in a bad situation; when we still carry those huge baggage of anxiety and still get fretted like a worldly one.

A Christian is to be like a mercury in a glass tube, should be affected with one’s surroundings but one ought not to lose the character of Christ; like the cohesive forces within the drop of mercury are stronger than the adhesive forces between the drops and glass. One can’t please God unless one maintains the ‘Christ’ Factor throughout this journey as a traveller on this Earth.!

We aren’t wanderers, therefore we should walk worthily of God, who calls us into His own kingdom and glory. Encourage and support one another to live in holiness, since it’s result is eternal life! Let’s resist everything that is improper for God’s holy people and stay on the path of purity by living according to the Holy Scriptures. Not as afflicted religious ones but as true followers of Christ!

Have a great day
