Since olfactory (sensory system used for smelling) is located in the same part of our brain that effects emotions, memory and creativity; sense of smell is the most important trigger of memory. As a result, the aroma of our favourite food reaches the nose (and reminds us of the taste) even before it reaches the mouth. Smells travels through the air by a process called diffusion; we would have noticed that we could recognise a scent at a dramatically larger distance.

The scent of rose on the hands that plucked or crushed it, confirms it’s existence even in it’s absence and the magical earthy aroma in the morning authenticates to the fact that it rained last night, even if presently it isn’t. Maurice Roucel was once quoted as saying, “Your fragrance is your message, your scented slogan.” Aroma is an invisible but an unforgettable accessory of a person.

2 Corinthians 2:15 says, “For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ…” not only fragrance but a savour of Christ, pleasing unto God. Remember, our thoughts, words, deeds and presence speak louder not just about us but Christ. Someone has rightly said, “We are the only Bible some people will ever read.” The glory of the Most High God is displayed through His each and every creation. James 3:11, Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring?” Simply impracticable! Likewise, we can’t be an aroma of Christ when our thoughts carry odour of this world! And even if we make an effort to fine-tune, we can NEVER be a pleasant  one- not unto God!

Matthew 5:16 says “let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Live in such a way that even after you pass away, the aroma of Christ in your days, lingers on the Earth for ages.

Have a great day!
