Devotional Portion: Psalm 1:6
“For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the wicked will perish.”
For the LORD knows the way of the righteous
The LORD guides the path of the righteous or we can say that the righteous man walks according to the will of the LORD.
In Genesis, we see Enoch, who walked with the LORD for 300 years. It means their relationship was so strong that they shared everything with each other. To know someone, we need to have a proper conversation with them. If we expect to know GOD and HIS ways, we should maintain a relationship with HIM. And as GOD knows what lies ahead of a righteous man’s way, he has the confidence that all things will work for good and this gives him the peace and hope to trust GOD above all circumstances. GOD knows the beginning, the course and the end of a righteous man’s way. The way of the righteous leads to his eternal rest where he can rest and worship his beloved GOD.
“The steps of a man are established by the Lord, And He delights in his way.” Psalm 37:23
But the way of the wicked will perish
If the wicked tries to walk like a righteous man, he will fail in it as he doesn’t trust GOD and HIS words. They chose the wide way that leads to destruction and they enjoy the way as they are unaware about its end. GOD wants everyone to be saved, but the decision for salvation is a choice. GOD has given each person his/her free-will to choose between good and the bad. Choose it wisely and walk in the path of righteousness.
