Key Verse: Nehemiah 2:4, “Then the king said to me, “What do you request?” So I prayed to the God of heaven.”
When the king asked Nehemiah about his request, he had the choice to speak, or not speak out what was on his mind. Instead, we see Nehemiah praying to the GOD of heaven. To bring out the best results, we need to have GOD’s guidance before we speak. Seek HIS will in every situation, through prayer. A word spoken without GOD’s guidance may contain the element of emotion, but may not contain the element of GOD’s will. GOD doesn’t want us to make decisions based on our emotions, but out of our love for GOD.
“And the king granted them to me according to the good hand of my God upon me.” (Nehemiah 2:9) As Nehemiah spoke with guidance from GOD, the king granted him all that he asked. He was sure that it was GOD’s hand that made the king grant his requests. If we move according to GOD’s perfect will, GOD will grant us favor from people whom we least expect.
Practical Living: Have Godly counsel before taking any decision. When GOD’s will becomes the integral part of our lives, miracles happen.
