Devotional Portion: Psalm 3:7-8
“Arise, O Lord; Save me, O my God! For You have struck all my enemies on the cheekbone; You have broken the teeth of the ungodly. Salvation belongs to the Lord. Your blessing is upon Your people.”
When we trust GOD completely, He will arise for us. David was appointed king by the LORD. However, his son Absalom revolted against David to be king, which was purely against GOD’s will. In the end, Absalom was killed and it pained David. When we go against the will of GOD, we become an enemy of GOD and GOD becomes our enemy too. When GOD becomes our enemy, none can stand before Him. We don’t see an account of another adversary, Shimei in David’s reign, but GOD paid him well during the reign of King Solomon. We may have a doubt- why can’t GOD wipe away all the enemies all at once? Two reasons: a) it’s all about GOD’s kindness and mercy b) you don’t need to worry about why they are still there, move on, GOD has promised that He has done His part.
Though we don’t see GOD move our enemies, don’t try to deal with them. GOD has a perfect plan and He will execute it in the way He wants it to be.
Deliverance and salvation belongs only to GOD. None can save or deliver us from the gnashing teeth of the enemy, but by the blessing of GOD, we can walk even through the valley of death.
Reflection: Learn to thank GOD when things go smooth, let His praise be upon our mouth all the days of our life. Let’s move ahead by trusting GOD.
