David was spending time in GOD’s presence as usual that day. As he read the Bible, he read Zechariah 3, the passage about Satan accusing Joshua, the High Priest. “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?” (Vs. 2); “See, I have removed your iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes.” (Vs. 4). These two verses spoke to him so much that he highlighted those verses in the Bible.

A few days later, he received a call from one of his church members who wasn’t that regular about church activities. As the conversation advanced, the caller started arguing with David and threatened him with some false accusations. David heard everything and never tried to prove his part. But he felt really down after the conversation. At that moment, the above-mentioned verses came to his mind.

He understood that GOD had prepared him ahead of time to face this trial of his life and just as Joshua kept his mouth shut and continued ministering for the LORD, GOD enabled David to stay calm and continue the ministry that he was doing. As we read the passage, we can see GOD rebuking Satan and giving honor to Joshua. GOD honored David as well in his ministries.

We might have to face accusations in life especially when we are in ministry. Satan always wants to slow down the pace by which we grow in Christ and he tries to put us down with things that hurt us so bad that we will get depressed and back off from ministry. It’s not about who you are, but it’s all about the call that you are carrying. The king of Egypt killed all the new born baby boys as he was driven by Satan to kill the redeemer who would save the Israelites from slavery. Similarly if you have a higher calling, you need to understand that you will face accusations.

As David shared this incident with his best friend Serah, she said, “People who have nothing to do, find joy in accusing others. They never understand that they are being used as a weapon in Satan’s hand. David, do not let these accusations affect your spiritual growth. As storms make trees firmer in their roots let these trials make your faith stronger, to grow more in the wisdom of GOD.”

Be calm when you face accusations. Stay faithful in your call. “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16.

GOD bless you!
