We as Christians claim that we love God and so when He comes we will rise from the death and those (us) who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord
Even eagles who fly maximum 10,000 to 15,000 feet have to go through a process called molting. So, will it be that simple for us to take off!? We may have to agree with what Paul said, “Not that I have already attained this— that is, I have not already been perfected— but I strive… I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.”
The one word that defines GOD perfectly is Love. Love isn’t God instead ‘GOD is LOVE.’ And when we claim that we are Christians we can’t forsake His nature. Apostle Paul said, “If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.”
According to a dictionary (MW), Love is unselfish, loyal and benevolent concern for the good of another. Such as:
(1) The fatherly concern of God for humankind;
(2) Brotherly concern for others.
Even the Holy Bible mandates to this definition. We say God is love because LOVE can no better displayed than on the cross because Jesus died for us while we were still sinners. Jesus commanded “Love one another. As ‘I have loved you,’ so you must love one another.” This isn’t a mere thesis, but a commandment- an ordinance! “Whoever says he is in the Light and yet hates his neighbour is in darkness even until now. Whoever loves his fellow being abides (lives) in the Light, and in him there is no occasion for stumbling or cause for error or sin. But he who hates (detests, despises) another soul is in darkness and living in the dark; he is straying and does not perceive where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.”
Love ought to be without dissimulation, kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another. Through love we must serve and seek the best for one another, have fervent and unfailing love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins- it overlooks unkindness and unselfishly seeks the best for others. Since love is from God; everyone who loves (others) is born of God. The one who does not love has not become acquainted with God (does not and never did know Him), for God is love – He is the originator of love, and it is an enduring attribute of His nature.
Scripture states, “Everyone who hates (works against) his fellow being is [at heart] a murderer [by God’s standards]; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.” (1 John 3:15). Love that God taught us isn’t a love that we give in return to what we receive nor based on a love we can expect from the other person. It is a gift that we must give freely to every person around us.
Ask the Lord and He will cause us to increase and excel and overflow in love for one another. Just like a tiny seed can actually grow into a huge tree, Love when allowed to be sown in heart, germinates and it multiples as a tree of all virtue.
Let’s own a faithful, Spirit-filled lifestyle, deserving full acceptance of Christ Jesus our Lord and approval from God our Father.
Have a great day!
