Highway signs are important as they help maintain safe driving conditions. Without these signs, it would be pure chaos. Equivalently, we ought to be well aware of the verity that only a fellowship with the Holy Spirit, can help one live life with a sense of accountability and prudence! We are introduced to Vashti- Queen of Persia and the first wife of Persian King Ahasuerus in the Book of Esther. But later, we see Esther was chosen to succeed her as queen (Jewish queen of the Persian King Ahasuerus). The reason for a dethroning was her refusal to King’s command.
A refusal or reaction, resulting out of a sense of accountability towards the women in the royal house which belonged to King Ahasuerus (Esther 1:9). When you get involved into things to the point that they start owning you instead of you having them, you get mislead from your responsibilities and your priorities get distorted. You end up missing out even on God’s word. These inclinations make us unfit for the crowns set for us (Esther 1:19).
On the other hand, we see Esther as the one who pleased and found favor of the one to whom she was entrusted and so was immediately provided with the beauty treatments and special food (Esther 2:8-9). She asked for nothing other than what Hegai, the king’s eunuch who was in charge of the harem, suggested. As a result, the King was attracted to Esther more than to any of the other women, and she won his favor and approval. So he set a royal crown on her head and made her queen instead of Vashti (Esther 2: 16, 17).
When you walk in harmony with the Holy Spirit, you are never mislead. This kinship and fellowship was the biggest virtue Jesus owned which bolstered and reinforced Him fulfil the purpose of His life on Earth. Let’s walk in fellowship with His Holy Spirit.
