James 4:11-12

Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. There is one Lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. Who are you to judge another? (Vs. 11-12).

Humbling ourselves and being right with GOD makes our minds to be right with our brothers as well. Speak evil translates the ancient Greek word katalalia. “Katalalia is the sin of those who meet in corners and gather in little groups and pass on confidential information which destroys the good name of those who are not there to defend themselves.” (Barclay)

When we speak evil and judge our brother, we put the laws of the LORD in the spot. When we speak evil, we break the divine law about loving others. And as we judge, we are trying to take the right of judgment that can only be done by GOD alone. Questioning the law and trying to overrule the law makes us lawbreakers and have to give account for that deed in His presence.

The divine nature is to love everyone irrespective of their actions or their thoughts. When we love above the barriers, we are opening a way for the LORD to intervene. Integrating ourselves to the character of GOD is not just about living as He lived, instead, it is also about giving the control of our lives to Him and to see in His perspective.
