Prayer has been defined as a medium to tell all our needs to Him instead of prayer being a medium of communicating/conversing with God. We teach the kids even from childhood to pray for their needs alone and not make them to aware of the fact that prayer is a medium to talk to God to have guidance in leading a holy and pure life on the Earth. We have fragments of Biblical verses to substantiate the ‘facts’ we hold on to as well. Yes, we can ask our needs to God, but, have we given the chance for Him to talk over our lives? Or are we just running a radio show making God a listener alone??
We pray to have material blessings, to have a better life here on the Earth, to bind satan from hindering our ‘blessings,’ to have better respect, and so on….. But, is prayer a medium to say all these alone?
Hank Hanegraaff in his book, ‘Counterfeit Revival’ wrote, “Genuine prayer is not about binding Satan or other sensationalistic ventures; it is the genuine submission of our will to the will of the Master as revealed in His Word.”
Let’s always pray, “Thy Kingdom come;Thy will be done on earth as it is Heaven.” Let’s pray to know His heart rather than pouring our desires in prayer….
