Churches have turned to be an arena for motivational talks. Snippets of ‘feel-good’ sermons have become viral in this media era. The sermons of the ancient apostles have never made the crowd cheer and to make ‘emotional decisions’ to be a ‘Christian.’ All those sermons pricked the hearts of the crowd- “Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart,….”(Acts 2:37); They wanted to kill the Apostles as they did miracles and preached the good news- “When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.” (Acts 6:33). Many repented and turned back to the LORD. We have no sermons from Apostles that make us ‘feel-good’ instead it opens our inner eyes to see the worst side of sin and to look to Jesus for salvation. We are saturated with the one-time salvation and have forgotten the daily cleansing, repentance, and the need for holiness! The messages focused on dealing with the ‘daily needs’ of the body and the soul, instead of the ‘eternal necessities’ for the spirit, and the ‘need of sanctification of the members of the body! A church that pampers the sin of the believers instead of exposing (reproofing, correcting, and instructing) the same via the Word of God is heading to destruction! #liesbelievedinthechurch #belikethebereans #Lie3
