We don’t see ‘Worship Leader’ as a ‘ministry’ in Ephesians 4:11-13 where Paul explains about the fivefold ministries in the church. Worship is NOT a ministry of a particular individual whereas it MUST be the lifestyle of every believer. People with talents are allowed to ‘lead’ the worship and in turn, we forget the fact that the Holy Spirit is the one who leads us in worshipping the living God. We must be a worshipper rather than to have the heart to become as a ‘worship leader.’ The usage of ‘worship leader’ must be eliminated from our ‘Pentecostal Jargon’ and instead we should add ‘choir leader.’ Yes, one can lead the choir. We even have worship leader idols/celebrities too. When a worship leader tries to ‘lead’ the WORSHIP, it becomes more like a human effort to create an atmosphere of worship! Allow the Holy Spirit to lead our worship sessions instead of allowing the music band to lead us with heavy music. Worship is not always about the tempo of the music, God will speak to us in silence as well. Let’s unlearn by analysing everything in light of the Word of God! Be a worshipper, worship Him in truth and spirit.
