Stan and Charley are good friends. Though Stan was elder to Charley by about 20 years, they tried to maintain a warm friendship, being writers who were also passionate about God. Charley was tech savvy while Stan was just a beginner in the field. So Stan used to take help from Charley especially in regard to social media.

Days went by, Charley went to Tanzania for a mission trip and Stan got engaged with his job, missionary works and writing. Though they prayed for each other, their communication was less frequent.

One fine morning in Tanzania, Charley saw a post on Stan’s Facebook wall that he was banned from posting on Facebook, because of some issues. Seeing this, Charley immediately sent Stan a detailed voice note about the possible reasons for the same. But as Stan was busy, he didn’t even open the voice message. A few days later, Charley received a voice message from Stan about the social media ban. Charley saw that Stan had seen the audio that he sent, but had not heard the same. Charley sent a short message pointing to his previous audio message, “Please listen to this when you’re free!👆🏻”

Stan was not happy with it and he typed, “Son, I need a help!” Charley responded with a smilie and said, “Brother Stan, I had seen your Facebook post and have given you the detailed possible reasons in that audio message. Please take time to listen to it and I will be happy to help you!”

Then Stan heard the voice note and thanked Charley for the help and information he had given!

We are also like Stan at times! God is our best friend and He has given us the solution to our problems through the Word of God! When things go wrong, we get confused and are not ready to open the Word of God – to read and find the solution. Instead we keep on asking in prayer. It doesn’t mean that we need not pray. Rather Word of God has the power to calm the raging storms of our mind and to give us peace when we are in need. Take out time to spend in the presence of the LORD and learn from Him. Turn to the Word of God and learn from Him. “If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.” Psalms‬ ‭119:92. Talk to God, allow Him to guide you according to His perfect and straight way, let His word be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path.

God bless you!
