Devotional Portion: Psalm 7:14-17
Verse 14-16 explains about the schemes of the wicked and what they get back for all their actions. They plan things against others but they get disappointed as it all goes in vain.
As a man of God, David had no plans other than to praise the Lord and to sing praise to the name of the Lord. Praise and adoration never comes from a heart that has no peace within. Then how could David praise God when he was surrounded by enemies and his future was uncertain? David had the assurance that as he opened up and poured out his heart in the presence of the living God, He would transfer His divine peace that surpasses all understanding. The thoughts about the evil works of the wicked can never bring about spiritual edification or it will never help one to move forward in the journey of life. But David knew that the perfect place to shed all his burdens and to spend his time was in the presence of the Lord.
And when we praise, praise Him according to His righteousness and praise the name of the Most High. David strengthened himself in the Lord; he gave his worries to the Lord and praised Him; and he humbled himself before the Lord.
Praise Him even when you are surrounded by problems, praise Him cause He is a righteous God and praise Him as He has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us.
Reflection: Let His praise be continually in our mouth all the days of our lives.
