Some days, we simply find ourselves standing at some major crossroads, paths which just can’t coexist. Days when we have to decide whether to travel the easy road or differ and take up the risk to explore through the right path. We get unfolded to the fact that there are no roadsigns nor roadmaps at a crossroad. A time or state of affair requiring prompt and decisive action. This is when confusions strike in, we feel disoriented and thus encounter hard time focusing or making decisions. How is a child of God supposed to react to such circumstances?
Jeremiah 6:16 says, This is what the Lord says: “Stand at the crossroads and look; ask where the good(right) way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” This is how a Christian deals with the crossroads of his/her life.
Four vital things to remind ourself:
1. STAND: We know of the fact that a Bus stand is where a bus stops (halt). Similarly, when we hit a crossroad, know that it’s just a pause for some new additions or commencements and subtracting everything that isn’t invited to the futures course. It isn’t a reason to backslide nor a setting to let in the air of despondency.
2. LOOK: This also represents Focus. For a crossroad, one need to have a clear and undistracted focus particularly on God and a perspective view of greater vertical extent.
3. ASK: Pray earnestly to the Omniscient God, who knows our tomorrow. (Psalms 139). The Bible says when we ask His guidance, the LORD Himself goes ahead of us; He promises to be with us. He will never fail us nor forsake us. (Deuteronomy 31:8).
4. WALK: A Christian need to hear from God first before taking a step. (Isaiah 30:21). A walk worthy of the Lord emanates when faith blends with hearing. ~Stay connected, cause even Google maps don’t work offline as it does when connected to WiFi.~
