In Isaiah 55:10, 11 pronounces strongly that His word- His promises aren’t “Honest Promises” or “Pinky Promises” which we as humans make but often fail to keep.
1. For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither: At any moment about two-thirds of our planet is covered by clouds. And so the sky will not always have the intense sun; it won’t always be a hot day that drains the land, because the clouds will eventually come floating in the sky to trap the heat, resulting in condensation, bringing down rain or snow. The process of evaporation is always followed by a drenching rain. Thence the heavens never fail to send forth the clouds – Hydrologic cycle.
2. But watereth the earth and maketh it bring forth and bud that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater: So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void; (KJV) One of the ‘ Nevers ‘ spoken by God in the Holy Scripture. Affirmation on this promise- His word never returns void is made by saying that His word shall accomplish that which He pleases, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto He sent it. The water absorbed by the sun is replaced by the heavy showers of the monsoon. Like a rain, His Word nurtures and produces what He desires. His word – His promises will come to pass no matter what. It is indeed a fact that God’s thoughts and ways for His children may not seem comprehensible to human logic and ideas yet they’ll fulfill the assigned task as He desires. His word is immutable.
God’s Word brings life to those who hears, believes and practices it. He has a purpose for each word He speaks. This living and true word of God, which stands forever, is pure and sure; it is an imperishable seed, alive and active, powerful and sharper than any double-edged sword, a spiritual medicine to every heart and a food for our spirit, an answer to every prayer. The seed and the bread! This seed encases in itself germination and multiplication at the same time. It sustains the yearning soul.
Joshua 21:45 says, ”Not one word of all the good promises that the LORD has made to the house of Israel had failed; all came to pass.” (ESV) Every syllable in His word is trustworthy and flawless, for all His promises find their Yes in Him and we utter our Amen to God.
In the midst of trials and difficulty and sicknesses let our faith shout louder over our unbelief that He is the strength of our heart and our portion forever, and let’s shout praises unto the Lord for no word from Him will ever fail as the scripture affirms in Luke 1:37.
GOD is GOOD… All the time.
