1. Ignorance: These people are ignorant about the basic truths and doctrines of the Bible. They are ignorant about having a strong foundation of faith or are satisfied by what they hear in the church. They are people who have shallow roots and are after the pep talks- making them confident to face ‘life situations’ with false assurances provided by the preachers.
2. Indifference: These people know the truth but have an unconcerned approach to the teachings and doctrines! They are more saturated by their knowledge rather than attaining wisdom through scriptures. They are detached from the community as they might have had serious ill-treatment in the past! They are self-centred, self-contained and self-oriented! They have created a strong boundary around them making people away from them.
3. Insecurity: These people fear to stand alone against doctrinal adulteration as they prefer community over the call of Christ. They like to please others as they fear being called a ‘backslider’ or an ‘unfaithful servant of God.’ They are suffocated Christians but have no courage to speak up!
Most people in the Christian community belong to any of these groups. Their silence to learn the truth, their ignorance to speak the truth and their fear to stand for the truth are creating a massive impact on the community.
If this trend continues, Christianity becomes adulterated more with false doctrines, people will follow whatever they listen to, and another Christianity and Christ will be projected to the world!
We need more people who stand for the truth and have the valour to speak up against the false doctrines spread via songs, sermons and pep talks.
The ignorant people must have a desire to learn the word of God in context; the indifferent people must understand that we ought to please God and not men; the insecure people must understand that we are called to defend our faith!
No matter what, stand for the truth!
Maranatha!
