Devotional Portion: ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭13:4‬

Lest my enemy say, “I have prevailed against him”; Lest those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved.

We see another plea of David in this verse. Let not the enemy boast in his success over me. He did not want the successful voices of the enemy when the psalmist was brought low. He wants the name of the Lord to be heard over his name and his life. He prays that his downfall should never bring disgrace to the holy name of the LORD.

“Our covenant God will complete the confusion of all our enemies, and if for awhile we become their scoff and jest, the day is coming when the shame will change sides, and the contempt shall be poured on those to whom it is due.” Charles Spurgeon.

On the contrary, the successful dance of the enemy will never last long as the Lord will use up for His saints and He will bring the joy of victory to those who trust in Him with all their hearts.

Do not get weary as you hear the successful voice of the enemies, stay humble and let God work for you.

Reflection: Wait! Wait upon the Lord and for His perfect time.
